The full world map, 34% of full size:
Note the large, attached hexagonal appendage on the east. This is the work I did in August. Here's a 100% image of it:
I posted the close up of Osijek with a post earlier this month. The map above represents the heartland of Hungary, which is a large plain filled with giant rivers: the Danube, Tisza, Sava and Drava in particular. One of these large rivers doesn't belong ... which is intentional. If any one ever copied this map, the error would stand out like a sore thumb, which is a copyright trick. In any case, it's a fantasy version of Hungary and perfectly effective for a game world.
Without question, the rivers in this section were awfully intense ... as was the density of population, as villages and roads proliferated everywhere. I just know that northern France, the Low Countries and England are going to be roads and villages, wall-to-wall. Won't get there for a long time.
As I said, I'll be slowing down through September. I haven't make a single map section in 12 days ... been busy with the other layout I wrote about and with the end of the third business quarter at work. I'll be in Montreal a month from today, so probably I'll wait until the end of October to post another map section. Or, maybe, I'll get started again and post something earlier. Depends on what I decide to work on. Although the Background Generators' got me pretty much by the throat just now.
You know I love me some Background generator.
ReplyDeleteThe maps are still incredible as always. The updates to your road system really show through here, looking very fun to navigate.
Love the maps. They always set my imagination on fire.
ReplyDeleteI didn't follow this project, but now that you're coming my way, I guess I have to :D
ReplyDeleteI love maps, especially as they get closer to the Holy Roman Empire ^^ ! Bavaria will probably be my campaign starting point.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the character background generator !
