Player Vacancy

A brief note, as I've just learned one of my online players has withdrawn from my campaign.  That means a vacancy.  Game is done through my Juvenis wiki, using my game rules, from 10am - 2pm MST, monday through friday.  Days off available; sometimes I take a week or more off at a time.  If you're truly committed, leave me a comment.

  1. I think this makes me the longest running online player at this point, so let me say that it's an exceptional experience. I can't recommend it enough.

  2. Sad that I can no longer type well enough to request a second shot at being your player. I have much more time these days than I did in 2016.

  3. I would love the opportunity to play and am committed to doing so.

  4. Let's give it a try, Joey. The first step is to follow the instructions on this page:

  5. I roll 15, 10, 13, 9, 13, 16. I assign them as follows: Str-15, Int-10, Wis-16, Con-9, Dex-13, Cha-13. I wish to play a male gnomish cleric. That would adjust my Con to 10 and my Str to 14. At this point do I use the background generator or do I allow you to do so?

  6. Joey, Let me run the generator. The one online needs tweaking for changes in my game rules since 2012. Go to the Cleric Sage Abilities page on the wiki and choose a field, and a study in that field.

  7. As for weapons I select flail and sling. For spells I select cure light wounds, detect magic, and endure cold and heat.

  8. I asked to play via email and was also encouraged to roll a character here on the blog. I originally learned D&D via the Moldvay Basic Set, but have played 3e and 5e in recent decades. Since I have some learning to do, I've been spending time reading up on AD&D and the custom rules available online.

I rolled the following: 14, 17, 13, 15, 11, 9. After looking over the rules, I'd like to play a highly dexterous character who could still survive in melee, so I choose an assassin. The Grace field of study looks attractive for moving easily in society.

    Half-elf female assassin
    STR=14; INT=13; WIS=9; CON=14 (15-1); DEX=18 (17+1); CHA=11
    Sage Ability Field = Grace
Sage Ability Study = Guile (selected over Murder upon rereading)

I expect to take advantage of the two-weapon fighting rules, so short sword is as heavy a weapon as I can probably manage in my off-hand:
    Proficiencies: short sword, dagger, shortbow

  9. Joey & MDK,

I need a character name from each of you to set up your permissions on the wiki.

Joey, I need you to send me an email to alexiss1@telus.net.

  10. Not knowing yet if she's raised elven or human, let's go with Rhonwen.

  11. For ease of play, player half-elf characters always have human mothers and are raised NEITHER human nor elven, but as PEOPLE. That should clear it up.

  12. Joey and "Rhonwen," I've created a page on the wiki for us to talk about getting your characters settled in the game. Please address further comments to this page. You can find it here:

  13. If the wiki is confusing, I'll continue to monitor this page if you need to explain that you don't know how to log into the wiki or how a wiki works.

  14. I don't yet have wiki access, so I'll post here.

Sorry to waste your time, but on further consideration, I doubt I'm a good fit for this game, and won't be joining after all. Thank you for extending the offer.

  15. MDK,

Thank you for waiting until I went through the hoops of getting your character ready.

Fuck off. Fuck off very much.
