I think Alexis has already hit on something. The images will most certainly draw new readers to the blog.
My all-time most clicked on blog post (not counting the Flying Swordsmen RPG page) is a pretty crap post, but it contains a picture of a woman in a bikini-ish "ninja" outfit holding a sword. I'm 100% certain Google searches are leading people to my blog because of that picture, not because of the lackluster content of the post.
