Come and Get It Day

Here it is.  And already I'm finding it weird to be typing on a new keyboard.  I had this sort of system a few years ago at a job, so I did accustom myself to it once before, but for now it sounds like gunshots (I type really hard, always have.  I actually started on a manual typewriter back in 1976, because it's what my parents had).

Specs ... not much.  Quad core, as I said, and a 4 gig ram (couldn't quite manage the 8) and a terabyte hard drive.  Had the port necessary for my extended monitor and just enough to buy microsoft office 365 for a year.  This is all I care about ~ am not a computer geek.

Now it is just the struggle to deal with all the stupid crap that comes with a new computer.  Turning the touchpad off, getting rid of the auto-starts for programs like skype, replacing gawddamn Bing with Chrome, turning off features, turning on features, trying to find passwords for programs that have to be transferred over, etcetera ... a high mountain to climb.  I'll have this feeling like home in a few days.

It's wonderful.  I'm very happy.  It feels like I have been waiting for a marshmallow for a very long time and it has finally been given.

Winston Rowntree recently did a piece about waiting for things to happen.  But my thoughts go to what it feels like after it happens ... so I cut this piece out of one of my movie files and posted it on youtube.  It's hokey, sure; but it is how you guys have made me feel.  Like a day like this came.
