Winston Churchill
The Same Universe Wiki is officially launched, and as I've said before, it is a multi-year plan. Our purpose is to provide a fountainhead for Dungeons and Dragons source material, things that could potentially be used by any DM, or fit into their system in an upgraded or downgraded capacity. Our policy is that there are not enough useful, practical tables; there can never be too many maps; that images are inspirational for sessioning; and that comparison of ideas is a good thing.
It is the 'Same Universe' because on some level every world and every system potentially dwells upon the same playing table. There may be a variety of planes of origin, but players and characters can and do move from one to the next. There's nothing wrong from stealing from World A to enhance World B ... since, in fact, World A and World B both exist. This has been a fundamental quality of the game from the beginning - that whatever is created or produced, regardless of the game it's been created for, there is a way to apply that rule or idea to D&D.
There is almost nothing at the Wiki, right now. But as Churchill says, building an arsenal takes time. I have loaded up a series of maps from my world, and I will be adding things each day until I run out of things to add. Eventually, my backlog will run dry and I'll be limited to what I can create that's new. I'm hoping that will take a long time.
For the time being, come and have a look from time to time. And if there is something there that you like, adapt it to your world. And if there's something that you'd like to add, come talk to me.
I'm at alexiss1@telus.net.

Excellent idea. I have a host of material I can contribute. But first, I have to get it all tidied up.
